Hi everyone I’m just looking for a bit of help. My second son is ten weeks old. He hasn’t smiled yet and is neck is still quite floppy (doctor said at 8 week check) and he’s still not lifting his head. I feel he’s just a bit vacant and I feel awful. He cries the majority of the time which I thought was due to the reflux (on gaviscon) but he’s just really miserable. Am I potentially missing something here? Doctors haven’t been much use but do have a follow up call on Friday but nothing has changed in two weeks

Do you have a health visitor?

I know they get a bad rap on here but for things like this they are knowledgeable and useful and have the ability to refer you to the right place if they feel it's appropriate.

Are you in touch with the health visitor, they be available for advice. Sorry I don't have any suggestions other than maybe a milk change may help with the crying/reflux but you really need to speak to the HV. I would suggest keep a diary, just a note each day so if you need to see timescales, or refer back, you can easily and it will show the professionals you are keeping an eye on this and are concerned. Good luck

Definitely contact your health visitor.. I'm able to contact mine and she'll usually call me back the same day. Did the gp rule out any other issues? If he's crying all the time it could be colic or something else other than reflux? It's so hard to know what's going on with them when they're so small, I feel for you! My little one was the same I would say between 3-4 months he was so miserable all the time, nothing wrong with him he just grew out of it and is now a happy and healthy 5 month old. X
