Baby finishing with bottle?

Hi all!
Just wondered what everyone else did.

My littley is nearly 11months old.
She was exclusively breast fed til 7 months. Then combi to 10months.

She's now been on exclusively formula for a month. She loves it. Has a 5/6oz bottle after meals.

Guzzles it down. I'm mindful she's 11months and she doesn't NEED it after 1 year.

How do you get them off it?

What are you doing at the moment with her bottles? Mine have both been FF and by about 11 months they were down to morning and bedtime bottles (DS clung on to his afternoon one for a little bit longer). I never gave them bottles after meals, it was always either before meals when we first started weaning and then moved to the mid-morning/mid-afternoon time before they were replaced by snacks. If she's still hungry I'd give her more food!

DD just turned one and always been a milk monster.

She's on 3 meals a day plus 2(ish) snacks.

She always has water to hand. She drinks a lot! She has a bottle in the morning and a bottle in the evening.

If she's hungry I just give her more food. Thirsty, more water. No formula, if she does have a bottle it's fresh blue milk now. But the milk does nothing for her hunger now she's bigger. It's more of a comfort thing.

If your LO is hungry, try upping the snacks, I always have a sippy cup of water wherever she is and she picks it up as she pleases. Once she was really into her solids the milk tapered off.

It's only really for comfort now. :)

I just switched both my children to warm cows milk in their bottles after 12 months- no issues with either- bottles went with my first at 3years old and my youngest who is nearly 13 months has 2-3 bottles a day.

Thanks all! Think I may just start offering a little less milk after meals and see how we get on then at one try dropping a milk at a time.

At this stage sometimes I forget to make a bottle up after a meal and wonder why she's fussy... remember the bottle then she's a happy bunny. So def not ready to drop that yet!
