Baby sick & uncomfortable, reflux or not?

Hey all.
Looking for some advice

My 8 week old baby, since around 2 weeks old has got very sick after every feed, and sometimes even when he’s not been fed, and a lot of the time it isn’t just falling out of his mouth, its Coming out pretty violently sometimes, sometimes it has been highlighter yellow and lime. And when he was really poorly it was dark green. When he’s awake he just cry’s and screams none stop. He literally cries all the time if he has his eyes open, I think he’s in pain or discomfort. He has just came out of hospital after 4 days from having bronchitis & an infection, he was being really sick in hospital, with green vomits too, but they put that down too it being bile due to him Sicking all of his feeds up due to being unwell.

I explained so many times that he has been sick pretty much since birth and it just seems to be getting worst, but they put it down to reflux still.

He has been on reflux meds for weeks but nothing helps him, omeprozole liquid doesn’t seem to have any effect. And Gaviscon infant still makes him sick yet it makes the sick very thick to the point he chokes, like thick cottage cheese. Sorry for tmi.

I’ve rang the gp, and asked if he can request he has a clinic app so I can ask for further tests. He said he will. I’m not sure how long I’ll have to wait but in the mean time I’m looking for some advice from fellow parents who may have had the same issue.

Does any one have any insight to this, are they right in saying it’s reflux iyo? And if so, how can I make him more comfortable? He seems to be uncomfortable all day and night; and he’s only 8 weeks so I really don’t want to dose him up with calpol all of the time.

Any advice at all would be helpful.

Thank you !

Likely the current nasty vomits are to do with his recent bronchiolitus they swallow a lot of mucous and gunk and it makes them sick so it tends to be quite nasty.

He’ll take some time to get over this, you could try feeding him less often 2 hourly so smaller volume might help with vomiting.

Then once he’s fully recovered from this episode you can get a better idea of how the sickness is and how frequent, a diary of how much he feeds and how often he’s sick (colour consistency and approx volume) might be a good idea and regular weights so they can see he’s gaining. Sit him up after feeds, you can also get a wedge for cot so he’s not lying flat. It might be he needs further treatment as it sounds a miserable time for your wee man you just want to take it away from them I know. But keep on at them if you feel he’s not right. He will likely grow out of this however ruling out cmpa is a good idea if you feel the omeprazole isn’t working.

Sorry I thought I mentioned, he has been being sick like this since pretty much birth, I noticed that it was pretty severe from 2 weeks old, he’s now 8 weeks old, it did get worst with his recent illness; but even before he was poorly this was going on and I was concerned, I actually took him to hospital when he was around 3 weeks old due to the projectile vomiting bright yellow and they said reflux then too, but no tests were done.

I just feel so bad for him.

I will keep a diary from now on though so thanks for that.

Thank you for your reply

Also I’m breast feeding and have been advised not to eat dairy which I am following but to no avail yet. Thanks
