Hi mums and dads,
I am feeling so down as a first-time parent (2 years old). Nothing seems to go right and now I am reviewing my dreams and goals.

Can I ask what dreams and goals everyone else have? Feels like I am going crazy thinking by myself.

Sorry to hear you are struggling.
I think you are doing the right thing.
Every time things don't go right for me, i review my expectations and lower them further! I think the main thing i realised it's there is very little you can control and make happen, so focus on my own feeling and stop worrying about what's supposed to happen.
My goal is that my toddler will become independent and have their own opinions and personality and interests, ideally ones that i would never have! This means that when they do something unexpected i can deal with it better.
Easier said than done, but it can take the stress out of things a lot more.
Good luck!

I have pre-child dreams and goals and post-child dreams and goals!

My post child dreams and goals would be to advance in the career ive chosen but only until it starts to impact on family life. When it starts to interfere ill start marking time. Do some form of exercise at least 3 times a week. See friends a couple of times a month. All very low level stuff, but its achievable.
