Asthma Advice Part 2

I posted a week or 2 ago about how my DD (2.5) had been diagnosed with seasonal asthma (diagnosis over phone, symptoms consist of barking cough usually when lying down/sleeping, after running, even something as simple as rolling around a bit on the floor brings on hideous coughing fit)

She has always struggled with coughs. Always barking ones, sounding similar to Croup cough.
I am not totally convinced this is asthma but feel it is better to try to do something than nothing.

I have been giving her 2 x puffs of both blue & brown inhaler in the morning & then before bed.

Questions are, how long should the brown inhaler take to start working/preventing? And by prevent, does this mean stop the cough altogether, or just to noticeably reduce it?

We are 2 weeks in & I'm not noticing a difference but unsure if I'm being too hasty to expect results.

Many thanks, any help appreciated as as a non asthma suffered, I am clueless.
