How do you do it when you are mentally drained, how do you carry on?

Lots and lots of chocolates. Not sure I'd recommend it but it gives and instant boost of energy.

I did a degree course followed by a job that was far more mental draining and often required me to have very little sleep.

Now if I only have a few hours sleep because of DC I’m just happy I don’t have to do a presentation or try and print anything off in the morning Grin

Something just for me. When they go to bed watch TV show or film, doesn't need to be all the way through, lets me switch off for a bit.

I also found limiting social media, I was making myself worse by comparing myself to others that made me feel worse.

Chocolate, coffee and gin also help

Sometimes I really have no idea how I manage it but I do, we have 6 children too.

You just do because you have no choice. When my children were younger I'd sometimes go to bed when they did, both for their midday nap and for their actual bedtime, and sleep. We also had them in childcare and would still send them even if we had the day off; this allowed us to spend the best part of a whole day doing whatever we needed to catch up.
