exclusively pumping help!

Hey mums
I am exclusively pumping as my daughter has a heart condition and can’t effectively breastfeed.
She is 2 1/2 months now and I’ve been pumping the whole time.

I have two things I need advice on..

I have something called raynauds syndrome and I’m in agony now. It’s impossible to stay exactly the same temperature in winter and even the tiniest bit of a chill leaves me in agony. Anything I can do? Currently in bed with a hot water bottle up my top.

Also think I have a fore/hind milk imbalance.

I try to stick to every three hours and pretty much do although sometimes - rarely have gone up to five if she’s managed to stay asleep for four hours and then I change, feed her etc and pump. Anyway I’m getting an abundance of milk, well over a litre per day. Sometimes up to 300ml a session.
Daughter is also displaying signs of lactose overload. Any advice on how to get more hindmilk when pumping all I can see is for breastfeeding mums

Thank you for any help in advance you lovely ladies xx

Not sure on the Raynauds, that does sound difficult but you should be able to get the hindmilk be gently squeezing your breast whilst pumping. The fat is stickier and this should help it to come out.

I'd ask @MNHQ to move this over to the Infant Feeding Section too @Dotty08. You should get a few more replies in there Thanks

Can’t help with the hind milk - when I did it I assumed that by the time they were 2 / 3 months the hind milk having to be at the beginning of their feed was less relèvent - and it’s all “in there” if that makes sense.
I used to get over a litre a day as well - I wonder looking back as I was a bit obsessed about how much I produced I drank a vast amount of water as it made a big difference. Possibly the milk I pumped filled them up but wasn’t super nutritious and a bit watery 🤷‍♀️.

On the raynaurds - it may be worth checking that you haven’t got thrush.
Anecdotally it seems quite common in friends who mostly pumped, and it is excruciating and would defs exacerbate your raynaurds.
