Mittens to actually fit a baby

DD is 14 months - I'd like to get her mittens with a thumb so she has at least some use of her hands. But the multipack ones we got from Tu are for 1-3 so unsurprisingly enormous on her - she's basically wearing bags on her hands. Friends' ones from M and S are the same.

It's impossible to tell size online so can someone tell me who makes mittens to actually fit a baby who is 1, not 3...

I’m using the 1-3 year old mittens on my 18 month old (she’s tiny!) they are a bit big but she prefers the ones with the thumb. I was also surprised I couldn’t find any for her age with the thumb bit. I got mine from Next and they don’t fall off.

So hard to find. It's like they think babies don't use their thumbs

They don't fall off but she also can't use her thumb and I'm convinced she'd be less inclined to pull them off if it wasn't basically like having plastic bags tied to her hands. Basically the dream would be a pair, with a thumb, actually sized for a small one year old, with the string to keep them in place.

I literally don't understand why they don't make smaller gloves.....they're one of the cheapest items of clothing and lost fairly regularly anyway so it's not likely anyone is managing to hang on to the same pair of gloves from 1 to 3...so might as well have different sizes?!

Maybe I need to set up a company and make my millions filling this really random gap in the market!

H&M do 6-12 months and 1-2 years in gloves with thumbs.

Mine had mittens from Peacocks and/or Matalan. I saw some in Peacocks yesterday, actually, and I think they had different sizes. DS is 3 and only started wearing proper gloves this year, so I feel your pain! Hope you find some.

We just used socks over hands until big enough. We had mittens galore, all useless and fell off within 5 minutes. Gave up.

Another vote for socks.

Also after three babies I've realised that they are'nt that bothered about having cold hands. Unless its arctic I wouldn't worry too much about it.

The h and m basic pack of three mittens are great. The thicker ones more awkward
