Not walking, not saying any words (apart from mama/dada) not clapping, waving or pointing?

How many months is she?
Because that can make a massive difference at this young age

PinkWaferBiscuit · 25/11/2021 18:29

1 as in 12 months or 1 as in 23 months? Both still technically 1 but obviously how concerned you need to be will depend on which end of the scale.

I'm assuming baby is only just 1 in which case there is absolutely nothing to worry about. DS didn't do any of the above apart from saying mama and dada at just over 1. Everything else came in quick succession over the next few months, except walking but he was a stubborn child and wanted to be perfect before taking his first steps.😂

My little boy is 13 months next week and all he says is Dadda, no mama yet 😔 he giggles lots and babbles away in baby language, walks with a walker and allong furnature but not independently. Im not concerned, every baby grows and develops at diffrent paces and there is no race

Just to reassure you, when my little one was 12 months old, he wasn't walking, he said Mama and Dada I think but not consistently. He didn't clap. Didn't dance or wiggle. Didn't wave either.

He's 26 months old now and he's doing all those things and more. Every baby is different, if you're concerned, I'd speak to your Health Visitor or GP of you can.

At 12 months DS was only clapping out of that list. Now at 15 months he is doing all of them, although he still only really says a few words.

Dollywilde · 25/11/2021 18:37

My DD is 15 months but we didn’t get anything word-wise other than mama and dada until about 13.5 months, maybe a wee bit later. In the last month her language has exploded (if only every second word wasn’t ‘nooooo’ at the moment Hmm)

I have friends whose kids weren’t walking at 12 months and it wasn’t considered cause for concern, I think the HV said they’d look into it at 18 months if needed? I walked for the first time at 14 months apparently and I promise I walk just fine now Smile

purpleme12 · 25/11/2021 18:39

Walking or talking is not expected at 12 months!
Can't remember about the others but I'm sure others will help about those

Lostthetastefordahlias · 25/11/2021 18:39

What does your LO do @mumsie01? Are they playing, engaging with you? Have you had your 1 year check with the health visitor?

clatterclatter · 25/11/2021 18:39

Mine didn’t at 16 months but had picked it up by 16 months.

clatterclatter · 25/11/2021 18:40

At 12 months even

LBB2020 · 25/11/2021 19:22

Mine is 14 months, claps and takes a few steps but isn’t walking. Babbles constantly says mama, dada and bye (waves and says bye). I really wouldn’t be concerned at all they all do things at different times when they are ready x
