Talk disposables to me <sob>

Cloth is over. I don't know if it is forever, but definitely for the forseeable future

So.

The various eco ones don't give a decent fit and I end up with poo up backs, or tabs breaking etc.

Pampers = Nice fit, stretchy sides, but feel sort of crunchy and cost a bit more.

Huggies = Stretch and fit not quite so good, but not crunchy as much and are a smidge cheaper.

Supermarket own = Not tried with nappies, but I know with pull ups I have always ended up back with pampers or huggies.

Is there some better nappy out there, or do I do the toss up depending on how I feel at the time?

Yup, surcare is one of the things I have tried. Believe me - with the exception of the freezer (trying now), and the boots liners, I have tried everything mentioned. I tell people how to fix nappy problems for a living - I feel a fraud not fixing my own

How long has he been in the disposables? Friend's dd had a similar sounding rash and her nappy advisor said she should put her in disposables alone for 2 weeks and then she should be able to go back to cloth without any problems.

Also have you tried washing them with aquaballs instead of powder?

Try Moltex or Bambo. Both lovely reliable disposables and slightly less awful from an environmental point of view (as in, materials, production method etc). You can buy both brands from any number of online green-ish e-tailers, including the NCT, Naturebotts (top service there), Spirit of Nature and about a million others.

I mix using disposables and re-usables. (lazy - I'm afraid).

I HATE pampers, leave my son very wet. I recommend Tescos active fit nappies.

We have been on pampers over Christmas - size 4 means he can't get his hands in them.

I plan to attack cloth one last time in the new year - but need some sleep first. It has been a complete nightmare round here this last week and I don't have the energy to feed us, let alone wash anythig more than we are wearing
