Weaning Advice- At a Loss

I’ve become a regular poster on here!
My 8mo started off Led weaning so well.
Was eating 2 good meals a day and loving everything I gave him and wanting more etc.
Now just over two weeks ago, he has suddenly lost all interest in solids other than fruits, fruit purée or them melty puffs. But he knows if i try give him a purée that’s not fruit he screams, turns his head and throws the spoon on the floor Hmm.
He’s been introduced to many different foods previously and had no problem and I always try cook the food myself so I’m at a loss.
Fair enough if it was a few days of being off it then I wouldn’t be worried but it’s been 2 weeks now.
I might add, I thought it might be teething but nothing popping through yet.
Also when he’s eating I try eat with him (we don’t have enough room for a table though so I sit on a chair in front of him). I don’t get stressed with him and when he starts to get upset I just say ‘ok are we done now?’ And take the plate away.
Any one been through the same? Is this just a phase? Feels like a long one!

My 9mo went off all food except Ella pouches and soft bread rolls for a fortnight, and that was teething. No teeth came through but she spent a lot of time chewing on her socks, my arm and her toys so I think her gums were sore. Back to normal now though so fingers crossed will be the same for you!

@Gingeranimals that’s good to know. We’ve had another breakfast in the bin this morning Sad

Keep offering, I know it’s so disheartening when you put effort into cooking different things for them. Hopefully this phase will pass for you soon! I’m going through similar at the minute with my 15month old.

@WeAllLikeVindaloo thank you. I hope it passes for you too. I think it’s just because he was doing so well then now two weeks of crying at food is concerning. X

Can be all manner of things when they go off their food. Teeth, growth spurts/leaps. Just got to take each one as it comes! I feel like here we have a good couple weeks then forever of another challenge! 🤦🏼‍♀️😂 x

Lockdownbaby2021 · 23/11/2021 13:39

@WeAllLikeVindaloo it would be good if they could tell us why wouldn’t it Wink I feel like this phase is lasting a long time and feel like he’s going to just eat fruit pouches forever Shock Grin

Anyone else been through similar? We’re still on food refusal although I can see a tooth coming (I think). Can teething really impact solids for this long? I can’t believe the change in him. He was doing so well Sad

Well 3 weeks of baby refusing anything but fruit/ yogurt.
I’ve been limiting the amount of fruit/ yogurt I’ve been giving him. And I’ve been putting it on the same plate as his other foods so he doesn’t see it as a ‘treat’ after.
Really worrying this is becoming more than a phase/ teething now.
He ate everything before, why has he suddenly changed? Sad feel like I’ve done something wrong.

Could you not offer fruit/yoghurt at all for a while? So the choice is eat what’s on offer or don’t eat? Im sure this will pass, hang on in!
