Yes... Everyone in my family has visible veins. It's normal if you have pale skin.

gamerchick · 22/11/2021 06:54

Everyone has visible veins on occasion or all the time. You're not the poster who wanted a load removed from her legs are you because they looked unsightly are you?

Zeusee1 · 27/11/2021 19:41

hi thanks for the replies. No i’m not the poster who wanted veins removed from legs x

My kids veins seemed to disappear as they got older.
They just have the odd ones on the forehead now, which become more visible when tired or ill.

BertieBotts · 04/12/2021 07:08

This seems to be bothering you a lot, have you tried asking your health visitor?

DramaLlllama · 04/12/2021 07:36

My DD (8) has always had visible veins. Her chest area is like a spider web. She has very pale skin so I assume this is why.

Bramblecrumble21 · 04/12/2021 22:05

My child has a visible vien from birth that I originally thought was a bruise when she and friends have wandered if it's a bruise too.

Bramblecrumble21 · 04/12/2021 22:05

Like goodnight grandma says it comes and goes with tiredness

Theunamedcat · 04/12/2021 22:07

Yes my sons skin was virtually translucent until he began going topless in the sun from time to time even through the sunscreen he tanned slightly and now his skin looks more normal

ThePoisonousMushroom · 04/12/2021 22:09

All 3 of my DC are very pale and have very visible veins. My middle DC has prominent ones on her chest and forehead/temples.
What do you think the issue might be? What do you think visible veins might be a symptom of?

Bramblecrumble21 · 04/12/2021 22:10

Visible vien is on the top of her nose/ between her eyes. Where it could be bruised.

nikf · 04/12/2021 22:13

My DD is very fair and has them on her face, especially eyelids. She's very proud of them and says they make her special. I think they're beautiful 🥰

Zeusee1 · 09/12/2021 22:14

Hi everyone thanks for taking the time to reply to me. I’ve spoken to the health visitor who has told me that it is common in children to have visible veins as they can have thinner skin. I was initially concerned as I hadn’t noticed any children with visible veins on their hands and just thought it seemed unusual x

Both my 2 do, especially my redhead...

nocoolnamesleft · 09/12/2021 22:19

As someone who regularly has to stick needles in children, I can absolutely assure you that hands are one of the first places we look for veins, because you can usually see veins on children's hands.

Zeusee1 · 09/12/2021 22:32

Thank you x

Yes, my youngest has some visible veins on one side of his jaw.

liveforsummer · 04/01/2022 09:10

Yes they tend to face as they get older although not completely if they are pale. We have a very blonde dd in our class who you can see loads of her face veins. I'm old and olive skinned though and I can see the veins in my hands and wrists, feet and ankles so not solely limited to the pale and young

liveforsummer · 04/01/2022 09:10

*fade not face

liveforsummer · 04/01/2022 09:13

Thinking about it dd has a good old network on her chest and she's pretty olive skinned too
