I’m at my wits end 😞

Hi mums,
I’m just at the end of my tether and I’m so so worried about my DD. She’s 3 years old and for the last 2 weeks, she’s had a temp on and off - this is on top of having a vomiting bug a few weeks before and another cold/temp infection for a few days in Oct.
So on Friday 5th Nov, she had a chesty cough and temp which she had on and off until Wednesday. GP said viral infection. Then she had no temp Thurs and a slight one on Friday 12th so the GP gave us antibiotics in case. Then, apart from cough/runny nose, she has had no temp since then until today - almost a week later when I thought her cough was pretty much gone. To be fair, we couldn’t get her to take the antibiotics 3 times a day so sometimes she only had one or two doses - I am so worried that it’s something underlying or really serious that’s causing the temp to come back - I will get another GP appointment tomorrow. But I guess I’m just looking for any reassurance that this can happen - maybe the cough isn’t out of her system? She still has it a bit and her nose is a bit runny. She is eating/drinking but not as much as she usually would.
I’m just so worried.

Is she has a chest infection and you haven’t treated it properly with antibiotics it’s not surprising it hasn’t cleared, the antibiotics really need to be given 3 times a day if that is how they are prescribed. It’s so difficult with toddlers who refuse but unfortunately if they need to be given you might just need to hold her down, quick syringe in her cheek and a big cuddle and kiss afterwards and maybe some chocolate Smile. I would speak to the go and explain the course hasn’t been completed and see if they would recommend another course.

Thanks @MotherOfDragon20 for replying. Yep you’re right - we really should have tried to give it to her 3 times a day - I work so my mum has her and she just couldn’t get her to take it. I’m just worried because she’s had a temp on and off for over 2 weeks now and, to me, that just doesn’t seem normal - even with a chesty cough. 😩
