10 week old red middle toe

Hi, my 10 week old has a really red toe, just noticed it now while changing her read about a hair but had a really good look and doesn’t seem to be anything like a hair on her toe just looks really red but not swollen….

Could there be a loose thread in her baby gro that's caught it?

I don’t think so I’ve had a good look and feel and I can’t see anything or feel anything that would be around it 😩

Was just coming on to say to look for a hair - make sure to check really carefully esp if anyone in the house is blonde as they can be near enough invisible and cut off blood supply to the tiny toes :(

Has she maybe a tiny tiny little scratch on it? Like a hangnail or something?

Also - those tiny toes!!!!!!

If there’s no hair and no sign of swelling or infection around the nail. Could she have kicked something?
My ds (now 8) always seems to have a red toe somewhere on his feet.
Keep an eye on it but I don’t think it’s worrying.
If you spot any pus or it swells then might be worth calling 111. But not overnight, I can’t think of anything major that this would be without other symptoms tbh (I work in emergency hc).

Could it be the begining of an ingrown toenail?
I remember when dd2 was ten days old and has similar, their nails are so fine it's possible that one is ingrowing. I remember the midwife told me to gently rub the skin under the nail, at the tip of his toe.

I genuinely can’t feel anything that wrapped around her toe 😩 I’ve felt so many times and my partner has felt 100 times too but it just seems to be red not swollen, my partner is blonde but he’s basically bald so wouldn’t be his haha and I have black hair so would possibly see mine but we can’t see or feel anything. We’re going to take her to minor injuries in the morning, we’ve put sudocream on it for now because it’s antiseptic! Thanks everyone!
