Chicken pox!

Has anyone experienced chicken pox in a baby under 1? My 10 mo LO was in hospital last night due to a severe high temperature and high heart rate and they said it was the beginning of a virus. Lo and behold he has spots and blisters appearing today 😢 and is still really hot, just wondering if anyone has any tips? People I talk to seem to say their children weren't actually that poorly and just got spots but my LO is really poorly bless him x

Was on a plane returning from Milan. Looked down at dd 5 months and saw spots literally appearing before my eyes!! Quickly pulled her blanket over her!!
Shock
She was quite poorly despite everyone telling me bf babies don't get that ill!!
You can get a proper cooling gel suitable for chicken pox.

There’s a mousse I’ve heard various people swear by, called poxclin I think?

My ds had them at 6 months but was ok with them. Look out for infected spots and ask the gp if they can prescribe piriton antihistamine syrup as it helps with itching but is for age 1+ (younger if prescribed though).

There are various products you can put on them e.g. poxclin, virasoothe, etc. Avoid giving ibuprofen as it can cause adverse skin reactions
