The "destruction" phase...

When does it end?!

My eldest was a very "careful" player. Would move things about delicately, or sit and scribble neatly (always on the paper), or keep things confined to one area of the living room etc...

Then my second was born! He's actually quite quiet, and not entirely "wrecking ball" in nature, but if I set out any small world scene for them, or if he builds a marble run, or if he's colouring in, within a few minutes he's just knocking EVERYTHING over, sweeping pens onto the floor, swiping his hand through the sylvanian house to knock everything out of it etc etc.

I get that this is a thing toddlers do, and I don't mind it to an extent, but a) it's so messy! And b) it then means all my kids are left wandering round a room of destroyed games so they almost can't see what to play with because everything is chaos!

He's just turned 3, so old enough to help pick things up, which we do so frequently throughout the day to make sure there's enough space to still play, but when does this destructive play end??!! Give me hope. Its it 3 years and 4 months?? Grin

Definitely 3 years & 4 months @TheEncouragingStranger Grin

Could you set the scenes or put the sylvanian family things on the Dinner Table a bit out of his reach so that the older DC can play nicely and do something else with him?
