Baby hates car seat

Has anyone got any tips for helping baby to settle in car seat? She is 9 weeks old and will scream as soon as the car starts to move. I don't think it's the seat itself, and she doesn't have reflux or anything. I suspect it's because she can't see me....speaking/singing to her doesn't seem to help. If anyone has any tips would be much appreciated :)

I'm not sure how to share but I created a similar post recently if you can find it.

Mine is 3 months and was hysterical in the car but some interesting toys and making sure she's not tired or hungry has helped and I've had a few successful trips! I'm trying to do short trips often to get her used to it

I got taf toys play and kick. I used it in the house first so she could become friends with the characters! Now she talks to them

Also I have someone sitting in the back whenever possible to reassure her whilst she gets used to it all

My little one is almost 5 months. He absolutely hated the car seat. Screamed almost sick ect. Then one day at around 4 months he just stopped🤷🏻‍♀️Still grumps when the car stops but not the hysterical way he used to. It's so hard tho because driving is a necessity tbh but it was training for both of us. I found once he could look out the window it got better. I unclip the hood of the car seat. If going longer than 15 mins I use the iPad and tellytubbies on YouTube🙊🙈😂

*traumatic for both of us

Why don't you think its the car seat, it could just be uncomfortable. Both of mine screamed a lot in their baby carrier var seats and stopped pretty much immediately when we moved them into the 360 spin car seat which was more padded and more upright. Neither of mine suffered from reflux or similar, the car seat must have just been uncomfortable I guess.

Are you still using the newborn insert. Could it be that that's making baby uncomfortable.
Mine used to scream to the point where I could t even drive to the local Tesco without both of us crying and DD practically vomiting.
I took her to an osteopath- not really sure it helped. And then one day she didn't scream as much and then a week or two later she was cured.
I'm gonna say she was about 4 months old at this time. But I remember removing the insert from the car seat at some point and she was deffo more comfortable after that.
Wishing you all the best.

@R1cciteddy Thanks for your reply :) I always tend to take her out when she is due a nap, but it doesn't help her fall asleep and instead I'm left with an over tired and hysterical little lass! I will try taking her out when she is not tired and see if that makes a difference. Also will look into the toy. I can't really avoid driving and conscious we have a fairly long drive at Xmas to see my parents, so hoping to make some inroads!

@Mrsmch123 thank you! She is such a sensitive and alert girl, I suspect she may too struggle with not being able to see out the window and what's going on. Here's hoping it gets a bit better as she gets older!

@DockOTheBay I didn't think it was the car seat as she previously would be content for 5mins or so before the crying started, but perhaps it is and just a delayed response. I can't afford to buy another car seat so will have to work something out with this one...

@notanaturalmum Thank you! Yes we are both getting very upset at times, she also was sick yesterday!! Felt so bad. Will give it time and hope and hope things get better. Maybe one day she will even nap in it!?

@Hullabalooobs had a really positive car day today... she cried a little at one point so I turned up the music and she stopped... then fell asleep 😀 might work for you too... I'm just playing lullaby music, no singing just instrumental

Also we have a mirror in the back so she can see me...that seems to help

And sun sheilds so the sun doesn't get in her eyes
