5 months old - sleeping

My little boy is ebf and has been having solids for about 3 weeks now. He'll be 6 months soon (this Saturday) and he has his solid food once a day every morning - ground rice & veggie (1 or 2).

He sleeps in his cot bed in his room and sometimes sleeps through from between 7pm & 8pm to around 5am/6am - he usually wakes up at around 5am so I give him the dummy back in and he goes back to sleep. These days, he started waking up so many times after I put him to bed at night like at 11pm, 11.45pm, 2am, 3.30am, 5am, etc!!

When it comes to sleeping for his age, is it normal that he wakes up that many time like this? Can anyone tell me why this might be? His cheeks have been a bit red as well and I wonder if he's teething although I can't see any teeth coming through yet - would this somehow affect his night time sleep? Also, I recently adjusted his cot bed height a bit lower as he might soon sit up - do you think this might have affected his sleep as it seems that his night time sleep became a bit nightmare compared to before adjusting the cot bed height - or would it be coincidence and it's got nothing to do with it..

His awake time - so many websites advise that babies at his age should stay awake for about 2 hrs - 2.15hrs - I wonder if other mums stick to this as well or just put their babies to sleep only if they look tired..

Apologies for the stupid questions but being a first time mum, I'm just not sure if I'm doing okay wondering how I could improve my baby's sleeping.. He's normally a happy baby!!

I'd appreciate any advice / sharing how/what you do with your little ones, thanks so much!

Plus, he also started waking up crying!! He used to just wake up rolling over in his cot, but since yesterday he kept crying hard when he wakes up - both days and night!!

He started having a little bit of clear runny nose as well from this morning...... I took him to his little cousin (6-month old girl) two days ago and I wonder if he caught anything from her as she was very snotty with dark colour mucus!!

If he has a cold, can I do anything about it?
