Anyone bought a play kitchen and regretted it?

Thinking of getting one for DD's Christmas present (she'll be 18 months) as everyone seems to say they're great value and get played with for ages etc, but has anyone bought one and later realised it was a waste of money/space? We don't have a separate playroom so it would dominate one end of our (reasonably large) living room. I want to hear the good and the bad before committing. Thanks!

Another vote for keeping it in the kitchen if poss, DD loves hers at 2.5. We got it when she was about 18 months, ours is the Chad Valley one which I think is quite a bit smaller than some of the others but it dies the job.

Hi all, following this thread with interest. My dc will be 18 months at Xmas. Can't decide whether to get one then or hold out until their 2nd birthday given it will take up lots of space and they aren't so into role play yet. What would you advise please? Thanks

Honestly depends- my eldest couldn’t care less, my 1year old loves it- I would get away with presents you need for as long as you can on reflection- for my eldests second bday she got a waredrobe and for that Xmas she got a bed (post cot)

When I say 1year old loves it- she loves opening all the doors and pulling things out- but hey saves her doing it around the rest of the house
