Constipated toddler

My 18 month old has been constipated/having really hard poo's for the last 4 days.

She is spending most of the day in pain and then has a poo in the evening but when it comes out it is rock hard. She seems happy again until the next morning and repeat!

My partner asked in the pharmacy to see if they had anything and they said if she is in pain to go to the GP.

Any ideas on what I can give her until I can see a GP tomorrow?

Thanks

My 18 month old DD suffers with constipation, she’s on movicol from the GP but prune purée and pear purée help, as does prune juice. She used to take lactulose but it gave her a tummy ache and didn’t work so I’d just ask the GP for movicol straight away

Apple juice works wonders on my.kids when they are like this and tastes so much better than prunes

You can get lactulose over the counter that’s what we used before we saw a gp, other than that warm baths and lots of fruit and vegetables, also warm apple or orange juice watered down x

More water but book in with GP in case it continues. I found movicol most helpful
