What it like having teenage sons/adult sons?

I have two boys, 6 and 4.
I am worried that when they are teenagers they won't want anything to do with me,, won't talk/communicate and will be sex crazy....won't be able to enter their rooms etc.
What is it like?
How do you have a good relationship with your teenage/adult son? What tips can you give me?
Please feel free to reply if you have daughters too.

Your initial OP struck me as quite a stereotypical view, maybe someone with little experience of true male friendships - boys are as varied and unique as girls!

My mid teen DC is still affectionate and huggy, says I love you Mum every night before I go to bed, chats in the car, watches tv with us after tea. Does spend a lot of time in his room talking to friends online but also happy to come out for a walk or to help with chores when asked.

He is kind, caring, emotionally intuitive and articulate, works hard at school, is passionate about the environment and I'm very proud of him.

Room can be messy but he showers, brings his dishes down and puts his washing in the basket without needing to be being asked/nagged (well trained from an early age!)

He's a joy and I wouldn't have him any other way. Enjoy your boys!
