i had pnd with dd and while this pg is planned, i feel so depressed at having to go through it all again. i absolutely adore dd, don't get me wrong, but...

i should feel happy about this.

someone, please tell me that having baby no. 2 doesn't have to be as awful as having baby no. 1?

Aww Warthog - I hae neer suffered with pnd but I'm sure it doesn't have to be the same this time as it was with DD.
FWIW - I have recently found out I am pregnant, completely planned but I still feel shocked to the core ! It's a massive adjustment.

Congratulations

Oh dear What happened to my v's ?

I was dreadfully depressed throughout the who pregnancy with ds2. I was terrified I would plunge back into 12 months of black smog that came after ds1.

I didn't. The minute I had ds2, I felt like w weight had been lifted. It was wonderful. And it's actually lovely having two.

Just remember every pregnancy is different, yes you had PND with your 1st but it doesn't mean it's a cert with your 2nd. I'm also pregnant with No2 at the moment and suffered with panic attacks and depression with DS1, but you know I got through it and i'm getting support from mother and baby unit this time whilst pregnant. Could you get some help whilst pregnant?

crokky · 16/12/2007 20:32

Know someone who had PND with no. 1, went on to have nos 2, 3 and 4 with no recurrance of the PND.

I haven't experienced the elation, hope etc this time round (am 33 weeks). Am finishing work this week and feel very anxious about being at home with a baby again. I have moments of feeling broody and tbh, feel so fecking relieved when I do, I could weep.

It took a year to conceive this baby too, so it's not like it was unwanted or unplanned.

Take each day as it comes is my best advice.
