My ds is 3yrs2months and we have known for quite a while that he is left handed, has always held anything given to him in his left hand. He has justed started using scissors and this made me think I should maybe get him some of his own? As he can't use the regular ones uless he uses both hands!

Is anyone out there left handed who could adise, or maybe your dc is left handed and you have encountered things I should bear in mind? He is starting nursery in January.

TIA

My ds is LH and when he had to do a finger space between words at school he found this difficult because he could hold his finger in place and write at the same time. Also now he is older he has to cover words to copy out 3 times for spelling practice, he doesn't usually bother because he is covering the words as he is writing anyway.

My mum loves her left handed cheque book because the stubs used to always get in her way.

I would love a left handed cheque book, do you just request one from the bank?

This is a great thread, DD is 7 and left-handed, she has a problem writing and her work always looks like a spider has crawled across the paper. I'm going to speak to her about that link wrt how the paper is set etc and take it into school monday to speak to her teacher about it. Thanks!
