Co-lactase - needing help with reflux and colic

Hi all,

Any advice welcome please. My little one Who is 5 weeks old is suffering with colic and reflux. We are currently using kendamil and have been using dentinox in her bottles to help with wind and also using BioGaia pro-biotics once per day.

She is still getting used to the kendamil and is in the 2 weeks transition period. She was on aptamil prior to kendamil but suffered with reflux- hence the swap but also I much prefer the ingredients in kendamil. She has not seemed very happy though since being on kendamil but I am hoping after the full 2 weeks things will improve.

Someone mentioned that co-lactase may be useful and I am interested in trying this. Can I use this in the same bottle with dentinox drops?

I am wanting to try more natural remedies but we have her 6 weeks check up next week with the doctor so if nothing helps will discuss then.

What symptoms does LO have @Nicola999?

Hiccups a lot, possits very often and sometimes more sick than possiting, can be restless and irritable, crying a lot, she has struggled more to go for a number two since on kendamil but I’m putting this down to the transition period, so very constipated which looks like she is in pain. She can throw her head back too when drinking and sometimes be really inconsolable.

As of yesterday I bought smaller teats and also dr browns bottles which seem to help and she was taking the bottle better but still very constipated and the one poo she finally managed to do earlier was very watery and runny.

When we were on aptamil before kendamil her reflux wasn’t great but I heard amazing things about kendamil so was really hoping this would work wonders. Not seen any amazing differences but on aptamil she was managing to go for a number two 3/4 times a day which was normal poo, but now strains to go once and looks so uncomfortable.

Dentinox has helped but i just don’t know whether I can put both dentinox and co-lactase in the same bottle. Also if I don’t see any improvements in the next week with kendamil I feel like it may be worth swapping but i have no ideas what would be good? I have my babies 6 week checkup appt next week with the doctor so will bring this up then too.

The new milk shouldn't be making her constipated and she shouldn't really be crying in pain when she poops.

Do you think that it sounds like it could be Cow's Milk Protein Allergy?
