First words or babbling?

DS (7 months) has been saying ‘hi’, ‘hiya’ and ‘hello’ for over a month now. At first I dismissed it as just babbling because he’s too young to be talking, but now it sounds more and more like he really is greeting me.

Recently he has added some new ‘words’ to his vocabulary. He sometimes says an excited ‘dah’ or ‘duh’ when daddy enters the room. Sometimes he pulls of the boob and says ‘miw’ and he also tends to say ‘miw’ when he is hungry. When he is distressed his cries are often interspersed with ‘mama’, ‘mommom’ or ‘mummy’. When I pull a jumper over his head he cries ‘noooo’. If I ask him a question he’ll reply with ‘yeah’.

Is it possible that he is talking already?

They mimic a lot as they go from babbling to talking, watching your expressions and the shape of your mouth when you talk to them.
Sounds like the pair of you are communicating well Flowers
