DS (2 1/2) has not been for a poo in 4 days.

We think this is due to trying to potty train and he scared himself as he pooped on the floor on the way to the toilet.

We thought it would be because he wouldn't go without a nappy but he's now had one back on for 2 days and still no luck.

We've given orange juice, prunes and lots of fresh fruit and veg but still nothing

He is very unhappy and will strain and cry. He's passed 2 very very small nuggets.

Anyone offer any help or assistance/been through the same. Not sure if as he seems in pain with it call 111?

Thanks all

If he's straining and crying as any poop is hard he sounds constipated. I'd give the GP a call tomorrow Thanks

Hi. Just been through this with my boy,due to potty training. He's fine doing wees but will not do a poo on the potty, he was holding them in until night time nappy. This then caused them to go hard and then got scared to go at all. I had to get lactulose from boots but I wanted advise from the gp, they gave my laxido satchets to put in his water. The last few days he's been going and they are now soft. I'm going to keep using them until he forgets about them hurting before. He now knows to ask for a nappy on whenever he needs to go as he refuses to use the potty . I'd nip it in the bud asap

BTW I started potty training about 3.5 months ago (when he was 2.8 months )and like i said he will not poo on the potty. Maybe sometimes we start too early with the training.
