Has anyone gone through this with your littles ones? My sweet boy is 5 months old and is teething and not taking his regular amount of feeds he usually takes 8oz I’m lucky to get him to drink 5oz atm he just chews on the teat and shows no interest of actually drinking :( he’s having calpol when the pain is really bothering him and we’re using the Aston and parsons gel, he also has Sophie the giraffe who he’s not bothered for:/

Hi @Mummyto4boys1122 what size teat are you using? This happened to our little boy at around 4 months & we switched from size 2 to 3 which really helped, we think he was having to work too hard at the size 2 teats which in turn was hurting his gums more

Hi! My boy is doing the same. He's teething like mad (top 2 teeth) he's 6 months. Not having half as much milk as usual. Just chewing the teat like you said.

Luckily he is on solids so not as worried about the amount of food!

How is your little one now?
Mine is having ibuprofen x

Poor baby 😫
He was ok for a couple of days and now seems to be back, he’s now feeding ok but he’s really irritated and chomping down on everything, iv given calpol hope it eases the pain for him, never thought it could be the top teeth Iv been feeling for bottom teeth, I can feel something but it’s taking so long😓

Ibruprofen is much better for teething pain @Mummyto4boys1122. I'd also recommend a teething gel like Dentinox.

Teething is the pits isn't it? Thanks

Mummyto4boys1122 · 13/11/2021 22:02

Iv been using the Ashton and parsons gel it’s not doing much tried the powders too and nothing is easing the pain :(
Ok il try that instead, oh it’s so hard he’s my 4th little boy and I don’t remember any of my other boys struggling this much with teething x

Anbesol liquid (not gel) is best for teething, worked wonders for my DD. Believe it’s from 5 months so do check at the pharmacy!

Also try a faster teat, sucking too hard might be hurting his gums.

No I think it will be his bottom teeth.
My little boys bottom ones came through no problem! I didn't even know he was teething then all of a sudden he had 2 teeth!

But these top 2 are really bad. He's had really bad runs too his bum is so sore.

You're not supposed to but I give him a full Ashton and parsons pouch morning and night and that helps too. (All my friends do it) x
