Temp 38.4 after vaccines

Hi all

8 week old had his first jabs this morning at 0940 including men B. Gave him calpol straight before jabs. He has been sleeping most of the day between feeds.

He now has a temp of 38.4, slightly cranky but mostly sleeping and managed a good feed. Attempted second dose of calpol at 2030 and unfortunately it went everywhere and not sure he swallowed any, but don't want to risk giving more just now.

Should I be worried? Should I regularly check temp overnight?

Don’t worry, it’s normal for babies to get a fever after vaccinations.

After his 8,12 and 16 week vaccinations DS was crying constantly and had a temperature 38-39c. Every time the symptoms would peak in the evening. The fever would go away by around 10pm and then he’d fall asleep. By the next morning he’d be fine.
