DD suddenly hates nursery

When my little one first started nursery in April she adored it, couldn't get enough and was always so eager to go. After a room change in Sept after summer hols she has l started to hate going, cries her eyes out in the morning getting her ready to go, clings to me when I hand her over. She's in for a day and 2 mornings. I just dread the days she has to go to nursery. I'm on maternity leave at the moment also so I feel even worse sending her (I don't think that is the reason though as I've been on maternity since end of April).

I don't know what to do to try and help her, has this happened with your little ones? :(

Could it be seperation anxiety?
Also, do you feel comfortable with the staff there? Children are very good at picking up on situations that are not quite right if that makes sense so if she continues to create a fuss she might be unhappy in the setting.
Not necessarily anything sinister it could just be that her room leaders style doesn't suit her or she just doesn't like them?

I would say see how she goes and if there is no improvement maybe change her?

If you’re on maternity leave anyway and she’s unhappy, why not just pull her out?

NuffSaidSam · 05/11/2021 20:39

Can she tell you why she doesn't like it?

Mine was the same, he went up a room end of july and hes only just in the last couple of weeks started to say "bye" and go in of his own accord. I rang the first few times after I left him and he was absolutely fine after 5 mins of me leaving him. Its awful but im sure she is fine after you leave.

They often stop crying the second you turn the corner after dropping them off. What has the nursery said about it.
