Sick 1 year old - help us both sleep

I was up with him every half hour from midnight last night so I’m exhausted. He’s then had a super cranky day. Tonight he went down fine then woke a few hours later crying. He’s snotty, slobbery and miserable 😓

Everytime I lay him down he wakes up crying within 2 minutes 😓 if I sit in the chair in his nursery and hold him more upright he’s sound asleep within seconds 😓
Is there any safer way for us both to get some sleep? I’m comfy enough to fall asleep in the chair holding him but I know that’s not the safest option.

Do you have a partner? Take turns and as they say, this soon will pass!

Massive solidarity - we are on day / 5 and six or a shed load of wake ups and long periods awake. My husband has just taken over and I'm back in bed! Although cold and alert for being up for a while.

@DollyPartBaked I do and he would 100% be taking his turn if he were here but he works away from home and isn’t home to us until Wednesday 😓 I hope you guys manage to get some sleep! It’s so tough isn’t it?!

Can you raise the head of his cot so he's not laying 100% flat, or let him sleep more upright in a buggy?

@Findahouse21 cot is already raised but no luck unfortunately. Never thought of his pram.

My 18 month old was recently unwell with a nasty cold. I used the Calpol plug-in and a humidifier which really seemed to help. I also used a nose spray and the nose frida to help with the snotty nose.
