Attachable blanket for toddlers or footmuff?

I have 15 month old twins that I take on the school run. It's getting pretty cold and they don't keep blankets on. Anyone seen/used any blankets that attach to a buggy? Or any votes for footmuffs for toddlers? I just wonder how they will work when they are full of mud so thought something that could be easily attached/removed would be better. We generally just come home after the school run and out walking etc later in the day so after a bit of versatility I guess.

I used to have a blanket with velcro attachments at the side to attach to the pushchair frame
