Hi, I'm currently on MAT leave with dd2. I work in the nhs, I know I need to work at least 3 months at the end of my MAT leave or I will have to pay a certain amount back. I'm just wondering if I was to quit my job but work on the NHS bank would I still need to pay back my MAT pay?

With dd1 my dh worked a late/night shift and I worked 9-5. Dh no longer works lates but 8-4. I've looked into childcare and the cost, trying to weigh up weather its worth doing shift work on the weekend instead.

Check with your HR team but no, I don't think you can work as bank in this scenario, I think it has to be on your substantive contract. You only have to do a minimum of 10 hours a week though, so could reduce your hours to that if you wanted to? And you will have accrued annual leave whilst on mat leave which you could use?
