Any recent experience of getting a first child passport?

So I applied for DDs first passport on 22 September, and they finally acknowledged receiving the documents on 14 October.
The website says it takes around 6 weeks, but I'm not sure which dates that is from. Also, when we applied it said 5 weeks, but has since increased - presumably because lots of people applying post-travel changes.
Any idea of when it might arrive?

From acknowledgement of receipt of documents for my daughter’s first passport to us receiving it was about 3 weeks (we got it back mid october, so a recent one)

My friend just got her son’s passport in 4ish weeks since sending out the documents.

Thanks ladies. That makes me feel better. I think there was a surge in applications the time I applied as travel opened up, and I can't get any info from the passport office.

We got ours in two weeks but it was earlier this year

Well I've just had an update saying it has been approved. Don't know when I'll actually get it of course.....

Excellent! It should just be a few days now then; we got ours within a week of the approval email and we’re abroad

Wonderful. An excuse to spend even more time looking at holidays online!
