Should I worry that my 13mo hasn’t eaten any food in 1 week?

He’s had a horrible cold and on and off temperature and cough for about 10 days now. Took him to a&e the other day as I was starting to worry and couldn’t get a same day appointment with GP. Doctor at hospital said there’s lots of nasty viral infections going round at the moment which are taking ages to shift. He hasn’t had ANY solids since Monday will only have breast milk. Is this OK?

Forgot to add - he now finally seems to be getting a bit better but still no improvement in his appetite

That's quite a long time with no solids, I'd be getting a bit concerned. They say only to really worry about hydration which thankfully he's getting but I'd be trying to contact Gp/HV for a bit of reassurance if nothing improves within the next couple of days. Has anyone checked his throat to see if there could be anything causing him pain when swallowing? Have you tried offering foods with lots of different tastes and textures to see if anything takes his fancy? Soft and mushy foods- porridge or mashed potato, maybe soups, things that are cool and juicy and refreshing like cucumber and watermelon. I hope his appetite picks up soon.

Jell be fine on BM alone at that age so don't worry too much but I would take him to the GP tomorrow if he's still my eating and get them to check them throat, ears and tummy.

If he is still having breast milk I would not be concerned

When my DS was 13 months old he had tonsillitis and didn’t eat anything or bf for over a week. He would only drink really cold water. I was so worried but his appetite came back eventually and he’s absolutely fine.
