Thermometers - please help

Hi

My 14 month old felt hot to the touch yesterday so I took her temp (Braun thermo 7 ear) and she had a bit of a temp. I tested several times throughout the day and it was raised.

Fast forward to today I've taken her temp with the Braun and it was 38.3 but with the underarm tommee tippee 36.5. So which do I believe?

She has a bit of a runny nose but is totally normal in herself other than that.

A twist in tale... I feel absolutely fine but have just tested positive for covid by pcr.

Any thoughts please.
Thanks.

Underarm is supposed to be the least accurate way of taking temperature as its not measuring inside the body

If you have covid she could also have it. Would you be testing her too?

Does it matter? Smile

38 is a fever, but not a worrying one. Presume she has a high temperature and proceed accordingly with a covid test.

Also have the Braun7 ear.
I find if you change the ear caps every time you get a different reading to if say you took temp 4 times using the same protector cap ( gets progressively higher this way).
I don't think it's very accurate despite it's claims although neither will an underarm tommee tippee be either.
I've no answer or solution just my opinion that neither are great.
