Not sure what to do next....ds is 2 and half and I was going to wait unil he was 3 but he has weeed on potty on q at bed time for several months, so on with pants 1 week ago. Good bit is he seems to go 1 - 2 hours between wees, bad bit is does not tell me when he needs to wee or poo and has only done poos in pants. I feel I am making no progress and not sure if he really is ready. Asked him at bedtime if he wants to stay wearing speacial pants he needs to tell me when he needs to go or does he want to where nappies again he said nappies???
Advice please.

When he wees on the potty, it's at your request, yes?

But he doesn't seem to recognise that he needs to wee or poo otherwise?

Then he's not ready. He needs to recognise the sensations for himself before you can "train" him.

No harm in carrying on with the potty at bedtime, but if he's asked for nappies then he's given you the answer.

wigWamBam, thanks, that is what I thought but expected people to say no keep trying! (may still do!) I had lots of issues trining my dd as she has a medical problem with her bladder, which we have only just discovered. So I feel like a beginner at this!.
