3rd birthday party tips needed

I'm surprisingly nervous about organising a 3rd birthday for my DD, I think because we couldn't have one last year and her first birthday was an open house for our mates.

Her birthday is a few days after Christmas. I'm thinking of doing something at home with seven kids she knows really well, age range 1-5, with four of them her age.

Would 11am - 1pm be a good time for a party with a few games like musical bumps, maybe a baking activity, a treasure hunt in the garden (went down well at Easter and Halloween) and then some lunch?

I'm thinking 11am as our families (who total 20 plus), her godparents, our friends etc will want to see DD on her birthday too. Maybe they can drop in from 3pm and we can do a buffet early evening?

Does that sound ok or should I combine the whole lot for one party in the afternoon?
Also is it worth me getting an entertainer for the small number of kids? DD loves this magician who does balloon animals at our local soft play.
Finally DD wants a girl from nursery to come. We don't know her parents though so they may feel a bit awkward. Also when we've seen this girl in the village DD totally ignores her despite saying she's her best friend!

DP is being absolutely no use so I'm on my own on this one. Any tips would be welcome!

I would do it over 2 days..think it's a lot to ask of a 3 year old to have to be social that much in a day xx other than that sounds lovely :)
