Baby bjorn bouncer- ever on Black Friday sale?

Hey mums, I wanted to get the baby bjorn bouncer for my 4 year old however I just cannot justify the price. Is it really worth it? I can afford it no problem but paying 200 for a few wires and a peace of material seems crazy… do you really think these bouncers are better than others? And have you ever seen them on Black Friday sale?

It’s for my 4 week old of course, not 4 year old :)

I just got one on Facebook marketplace for £50. My 6 week old has only spent about 10 minutes in it so far before crying, but is early days! I heard lots of good things about it- def worth checking out marketplace, gumtree etc. This ones as good as new x

Not this specifically, but I bought one for £145 when DS was little. He probably used it for a maximum of 10 times and I sold it practically brand new for £30 😭 - I'd say go for a good quality second hand one, purely because no matter how amazing a product is (which no doubt this one is!) there's no way of knowing your little one will actually like the thing.

My cheap Argos one does the job just fine
Waste of money imo

Jujujuly · 27/10/2021 10:06

I think they are brilliant - so much better than cheap ones - but still not worth the money. The covers are fully washable in the machine so just buy one secondhand on eBay or Fb marketplace or similar. I bought one for about £30 for DC1 and ended up being given another for free which was a godsend with DC2 - had one upstairs and one downstairs!

ISaidDontLickTheBin · 27/10/2021 10:10

They are great bouncers! I got mine on ebay though for about £50, hardly used. The fabric parts are all machine washable so I really would suggest you buy second hand (there are normally loads for sale on all the major selling platforms) and just give it a good wash.

My DC both really liked the wooden toy bar that goes across it too.

They go much cheaper on Amazon sometimes. I bought Ds babybjorn bouncer last year and it was £104.

They are currently £156 on Amazon.

Ds uses his every day still now, and he’s 18 months. He has his milk in it each afternoon and likes to chill in there with a book ( you turn to fabric around to toddler seat mode)

lucymagoo · 27/10/2021 12:45

I also got one for £120 on Amazon, it was £180 elsewhere. Our 5 month old has spent a huge amount of his life in it! Loves kicking his legs to make it bounce and it's really been a lifesaver for me to be able to get things done.

Elisemum · 27/10/2021 13:14

Thank you all. I’m going to look at second hand ones and Amazon too.

I got a new one as a gift (from grandparents who asked what we needed) and it was so useful, used for two children who both liked being in it. It's especially helpful if you have a baby with reflux and have to keep them upright after feeds. But also for popping them in while you shower or do other stuff.

Definitely look for a second hand one, try Facebook marketplace, Gumtree, eBay. As PPs said, the seat fabric is machine washable so they're easy to clean.

stalkersaga · 27/10/2021 13:25

It is the best bouncer. Buy secondhand - I did and sold it for effectively what I paid for it. BB baby products sell very well secondhand because they are well-designed and last other than the slings which suck.

Jsgdud · 27/10/2021 13:26

Yep definitely look on eBay, Facebook or Vinted for second hand. I got one with the toy bar for £50.

Caspianberg · 27/10/2021 13:34

Secondhand great if you can get.

The best feature we use is that it can fold flat. It means it just stores under the sofa out of sight or behind door when it’s not in use, and can take in car to family/ friends house

Chelyanne · 27/10/2021 14:37

Not at new price, if you could get a bargain 2nd hand one maybe.

We have the fisher price infant to toddler rocker instead, much more affordable new and baby is happy in it.

Pandaly · 27/10/2021 15:36

2nd hand. Don't pay full price for it. Your baby might hate it.

Foreverbaffled · 27/10/2021 15:39

I just sold mine on eBay for £50. Lots on there! They are great.

Pandaly · 27/10/2021 15:42

Same for the carriers, 2nd hand on ebay can save you a fortune

Chelyanne · 27/10/2021 16:01

I've got a redkite carrier, does the job and was less than £25 new.
