White patches in 1yr olds mouth

Hello - not asking for medical advice but I am wondering if anyone else has ever had their baby/toddler experience white patches on their tongue and in their mouth that isn’t oral thrush?

DS has been out of sorts all week and had a temperature for a couple of days then yesterday lunchtime I noticed a white patch on the tip of his tongue and a couple of spots at the side and on the roof of his mouth. I immediately assumed oral thrush so took him to the pharmacist but they said not thrush and to see the doctor.
Doctor reckons a virus (not hand, foot and mouth as not ulcer-like) which I don’t dispute but I’m wondering if anyone else has experienced this?

Thanks

So I have experienced this twice: once he had white patches on his tongue and inside his mouth and it turned out he had tonsillitis. Another time he had sort of a white film across the whole roof of his mouth but the health visitor said this was because he has a mild tongue tie which means he isn’t able to clean the roof of his mouth with his tongue. I will try and dig out the pics and post here.

DD 1 has had hand foot and mouth and had a white small dotty patch on the tip of her tongue plus the spotty blisters on hands/feet/mouth(some legs and bum too)

She also had mild thrush after having antibiotics white coated tongue -

Sorry for the bad quality of pic 1. First one was tonsillitis. Second one was the milky film related to the tongue tie (we started cleaning his mouth after this). Hope your little one is ok.

Thank you! It does look different to both of these but interesting that something like tonsillitis can cause this on a tongue. The doctor did look in his mouth and I’m guessing looked at his tonsils at the time so don’t think it’s that

Thank you! Doctor ruled out both thrush and hand, foot and mouth and just said “a virus”

Chickenpox appeared like this in one of mine. Few days later came out on body.
