Acting, dancing, singing...?

Before I start, I want to say that I am not a "pushy mother"
I am looking for classes for my DD to attend, she is three this month and is a complete drama queen.

We tracked down a dance class in our area yesterday but she was the oldest one there and it was more of the singing nursery rhymes while marching type of thing. She loved it, but it wasn't quite enough for her I think.
Does anyone know at what age they can start proper dance classes, or whether there is some sort of drama thing out there for little ones?

We do dance and play make believe at home, but I think that I am too dull for her, she really comes alive when around other kids dancing and playing.

Is there a stagecoach near you lowryn? not sure if they take 3 year olds tho. Look in yellow pages for dance/drama schools?

Stagecoach go from 4, but lots of ballet and dance schools start from 2.5 - 3.

My DD started ballet classes at 3. The dancing school me & my DSs currently go to also takes them from 3. It is the normal starting age.

(word of warning, my DD was like yours. By 5 she'd had enough of ballet, wouldn't go & was creating a scene in class so we had to allow her to stop. At 16 she started again & is now really annoyed with herself that she didn't keep it up)

The ballet school my DD attends takes girls and boys from age 3.

I don't think letting your daughter do ballet makes you a pushy mother Lowryn - you're giving her an opportunity to try something. I want my DD and DS to have every opportunity to try anything they want - I don't expect exam passes, first class performances and 24 dedication - just fun fun fun and I'm sure you're the same.

Thanks! Oddly enough it didn't occur to me to check the yellow pages, although I spent almost an hour surfing the internet! I guess you forget the good old methods sometimes.
