Chickenpox doing the rounds - your best tips please!

Somehow DS managed to escape the last epidemic that went round nursery. God knows how! Today the first case of the year has been confirmed so I'm bracing myself for him to pick it up this time. What do I need to stock up on to help him get through it? And did your little ones feel really awful with it? Dreading it, tbh, but it's not something we can avoid forever 😣

Vaccination. Especially if over two.

Vaccination - it's effective even 5 days after exposure

Brilliant thanks I’m going to go for it. What happens if they catch pox whilst waiting for the second dose ?

Honestly the best thing you can do is get your child vaccinated against chicken pox. Then they won’t catch it, or will catch it incredibly mildly with only a few spots and no blisters.

I agree with a vaccination but if your not the oat baths, poxclin And DO NOT USE IBUPROFEN!!

Vaccination definitely but if he gets it before being vaccinated, Eurax Cream is quite good for relieving itching. But prevention is best.

Vaccination! My children are and every time I get a msg from nursery saying it’s doing the rounds I can breathe a sigh of relief rather than wait anxiously.
