Baby fussy half way through bottle

Hi

My 4 month old baby will take the first half of his bottle absolutely fine and wind easy enough but the second half is a challenge he will grump like he doesn’t want it but then goes crazy when you take the bottle out and wants it back it goes on like this until he finishes the bottle. He is on omeprazole for silent reflux and a hydrolysed formula for cows milk allergy. Anyone had a similar experience and know what could be the cause?

He maybe isn’t hungry for more but wants to suck for the pain. Which milk is he on?

He’s on neocate, what pain could he be having? The omeprazole seems to have treated the reflux as he’s no longer screaming in pain. Sometimes he will take one or two bottles a day without any fussing. It’s frustrating I wish he could tell me what’s up Confused @Fallagain

My daughter did this. I moved up a teet size just by chance and it totally solved the issue. Every baby is different though and it might be a different reason for your baby’s fussing but it might be worth a try?

I'd move up to the next size teat. Could he be teething? Could make feeding uncomfortable for him

Neocate still contains milk. He may need a milk free formula. There is a great CMPA Facebook that would be the beat place to ask.

Which bottle and teat size are you using?

He has a size 2 tear on mam bottles. I do have 3s so I will try this. I didn’t realise that formula had milk in it still. Why do they prescribe that when they diagnose with CMPAConfused. He had diharrea with every feed but that seemed to have stopped so I assumed it was dairy free wow. I’ve suspected he’s been teething for a while actually he’s always chewing his hands or toys. It’s just the way he wants the bottle but pushes it away after a couple of sucks but instantly wants it back.
