8 year old child tested positive for COVID.

Mum & Dad separated but coparent half the week 3 days mum, 4 days dad. Dad lives with partner. Mum & dad are double vaccinated, partner only has one so far, due the second dose this week.

DC was at mums when he developed symptoms and hasn’t seen dad or DP since developing symptoms although could have been in the infectious stage as mum wasn’t sure when cough started. Mum was happy to keep DC with her for the 10 days but dad wanted to see the child too despite his DP having to isolate for the time the DC would be staying.

WWYD? Keep the DC in one place or to and fro the DC to both houses despite the DP having to isolate and potentially catching covid?

DP cant work during this isolation period.

Can't dad come to moms to visit DS. Otherwise DP will need to isolate for 10 dads after the visit.

I thought you only needed to isolate if you developed symptoms and/or tested positive yourself.
So I don't think the partner would need to isolate unless they got it too.

Personally, I think it would be easier all round if dc just stayed where he is until isolation is up.

Mum keeps DC

I'd keep dc with their Mum.
It's only 10 days. Think Dad will survive.

Honestly I would leave child where they are. Dad can face time and see them after 10 days. Maybe dad will have an extended visit to make up for any lost time.

I thought you only needed to isolate if you developed symptoms and/or tested positive yourself. So I don't think the partner would need to isolate unless they got it too.

Personally, I think it would be easier all round if dc just stayed where he is until isolation is up.

If you're not double jabbed you have to isolate if you're in contact with someone who tests positive.

Most important for me would be how the child is? Nobody wants to be moved around when feeling poorly.
I would probably keep child with mum with loads of FaceTime etc to dad to minimise spreading it to others.

You only need to isolate if you develop the symptoms yourself.

Keep the child where they are and parents visit them

Close contacts over the age of 18.5 years who have not had two vaccines still have to isolate.
