What to do with old car seat?

We upgraded to a toddler car seat a few months ago and the old one is just sitting in the house gathering dust. It’s in perfect condition and has never been in a crash etc, so it seems wasteful to sell it. Haven’t checked expiry but I can’t imagine it’s expired as it’s less than 2 years old.

What did you do with your old ones? Part of me is a bit paranoid about giving it away just “in case” there something wrong with it that we don’t know about.

I just gave ours away on free cycle and gave them the date it was bought/how long it was used for and assured them it hadn't been in any car accidents.

One I passed on to a friend and the other one we sold (was a cybex sirona so a decent seat).

Charities will take them sometimes (places like women's aid or local churches)

Your local fire brigade may take it for RTC training.
