Had a gut full of DS today

.. he's 22 months old. And VERY loud. When we meet with friends he's always the noisy one who tantrums and won't share his toys.
Today he has tried to bite me a number of times, thrown all his food on the floor, laughed at me, screamed and kicked at me. The only saving Grace was he slept for 90 mins.
I have nothing to compare to as DS is my first but please someone tell me it gets easier ☹️
He seems to have these phases where he gets really frustrated, I wish I could help him feel better. Sometimes he is lovely, but often he is like this. I wonder how people manage with a new born as well as a toddler this age.. think I'm just having a bad day 😢

Mine is 21 months and we've had exactly the same day. Multiple meltdowns and full on throwing himself on the floor screaming. I also have nothing to compare it too and hope it will get better.
I have to remind myself it's just a phase and hopefully tomorrow will be a better day.

Mine are teenagers (dds) but I had one easy baby and then an extremely difficult baby/toddler who gave me grey hairs. It's not you. They just each come out with their own personality. My really hard work one turned out lovely in the end and I'm sure your ds will too!

Hi both! Thanks for your replies! I was slightly dreading replies of this esk - "that's normal toddler behaviour don't you know!?"

@stressingmum I hope your little guy cheers up like I hope mine does. My mum said it's the intelligent ones who are most defiant, we'll see 😊

@HuckleberryJam that's great to know your challenging DD turned out lovely, kids eh? 😂

I guess there's no resolution to this kind of behaviour other than to get through it and try and see the best in everything..? Doesn't make those extra hard days any easier though, I guess this is parenting and that's that..
