My little boy's driving me crazy at the moment! He hasn't stopped crying for more than 10 minutes since he woke up this morning. I've tried everything to calm him down, but I end up putting him in his cot, and after a bit of protest he falls asleep. He's not been very well the last few days, because he's had a bit of an upset tummy, but he seems fine today, but he's acting even worse....! He's 8 months old.... surely he shouldn't be doing this now??? Sorry, just having a bad day!!!

Big (((hugs))) jellybabe. sorry, no suggestions, but if you can, grab a big cup of tea, and shut yourself away for 5 minutes!

jellybabe83 · 11/11/2004 17:08

Lol, that's exactly what I'm doing...! Thanks TeriS

commiserations - ds has had a bad bug with upset tummy for 3 days, and yesterday i caught it. is there anyone you can get to help? i've been leaning on grandparents and if i run out of them it's time for dh to take some parental leave

I'm thinking ear infection, has he ben to the Drs?

handlemecarefully · 11/11/2004 23:40

I'm with Westcountrylass - the one and only time my dd cried and screamed and raged uncontrollably was when she had an ear infection. The pain of an ear infection is murder btw.

JB83 - I thought there was new legislation so that all parents were entitled a maximum of 6 weeks family leave up until the child is 5 years old?

acnebride · 12/11/2004 08:09

soryr, should have said that parental leave as far as i know applies to everyone but is unpaid (68 days until child's first birthday) sometimes worth it-! but am feeling a lot better today. how's it going?

acnebride · 12/11/2004 08:10

oh katooties, til child's fifth birthday.

Hey jellybabe... no suggestions but my DS is 9 months and a couple of days ago he screamed for 72 hours!! I think there was a 30 minute gap for sleep in there... it wasn't anything, no temp, maybe preteething, no lumpy bits in there though.. although now he does seem to be vomiting a few times a day so maybe it was a tummy bug starting; who knows! All I do know is OH MY GOD I could've killed myself lol
