Baby's right eyelid swollen after insect bite.

My DS awoke today morning swollen right eye lid , def seems like an insect bite , maybe mosquito or a flea .
It got worse since morning because baby keeps scratching the eyelid.
I m trying lukewarm coconut oil massage ..
He's 1.7 yrs old.

What makes you think it’s a bite rather than an eye infection? I can’t see a central punctum.

Please don't put anything on your baby's eye.

Not sure if you're in UK or not (mosquito?) but NHS website has lots of useful info, or you could call 111.

Definitely wouldn't put anything on it and would seek advice. Pharmacy might be able to help and if not, GP. As an adult I had an insect bite that meant my eyelid swelled shut. Needed preventative antibiotics as my tears we're pooling, as well as antihistamine cream.

@ZealAndArdour I am unfortunately in my village right now . Due to power cuts here , we had to sleep outside the room in the open area, and there were a LOT of fleas , I guess due to harvest season, and a number of mosquitoes too. Although we did use mosquito net.

Fortunately I m heading for home city by Friday

@orangejuicer not on eyes, but oil massage on swollen eyelid while DS slept

@Fizzgigg I m in a village unfortunately. The only way I can consult with baby's paed is video call. I will if swelling gets worse..hope not
