kepYeah SUDDEN SICKNESS AND LETHARGY

DS 2 has had a cold for a few days, cough and runny nose, bit generally under the weather. Tonight he suddenly started crying at around 5:30 and wanted to be held to fall asleep. I thought he was just tired as long day and at 2 and a half has just dropped his nap. However, put him in the bath and it was like he was nodding off in there, could barely keep his eyes open. I take him out, he cries and just Wants to be held, dress him and take him down to say goodnight to his dad where he just vomits all over him?
DP does not seem to be overly concerned as no temperature but it's so unusual for DS as he fights sleep to the bitter end? I don't know whether to call 111???

Yup 111 x

Just to rule things out

Thank you, I think I should, he did a big wee on the potty just after he got out of the bath so I'm thinking that's a good sign that it's just a bug or from swallowing too much mucus? He's fast asleep now and breathing pretty normally

I'd still call 111 just in case. Could just be a bug but the sudden onset of sickness and lethargy could be something more serious like meningitis (highly doubtful but you never know). Never always have to have a rash with meningitis.
Hopefully a good nights sleep and they will be fine tomorrow, but still call 111 just in case. If anything to ease your mind x

@DaddypigLTB
How is he?

I'd also call 111 due to the lethargy however we've also got a strange bug at the moment so maybe there is something going round.

In our case 18 month old ds has vomitted 3 times but in each case 48 hours apart - last Wed, then Fri and again this evening - each time just after bath as we are about to put him to bed. He's had mild cold symptoms but no diarrhoea and a lot of the time seems absolutely fine. He hasn't been particularly lethargic though...

I'm completely perplexed and going to call the doctor tomorrow. Also a blinking nightmare with childcare as we're approaching a whole week off nursery for really quite a small amount of actual vomiting and a seemingly quite well toddler.

Hope you have a calm night and he is better tomorrow!
