Too much neurofen

I normally give my 10 month old son calpol when his teeth really hurt, and the dose for his age is 5ml. So when I opened a new bottle of baby neurofen this evening I just assumed it would be the same and gave him 5ml. Read the side of the box and he should only have had 2.5ml! 5ml isn’t recommended until 12 months plus. He’s going to bed soon so he won’t be having anymore now in this 24 hour period, but I’m still a bit worried 😟

I think since he is on the older spectrum in the 12 months it will be ok as a one off.

Agreed. I did this once and Dr assured me you would have to give way too much to cause damage. I just left a longer gap before the next dose. I also got a Sharpie and highlighted the dose for each syringe and put them with the bottles to remind me!

Another thing that reassured me was in Australia they do dosage by weight so when I went there, my daughter was on a much higher dose than she would be here because she was chubby! There can be massive difference in sizes of babies the same ages

I hope so. He’s not a small baby he’s a big lad and has eaten quite a lot today so I’m hoping he’ll be ok. And like I said, he’s not having anymore.

I did exactly the same! 111 told me it would be fine.
