Combination feeding , how much

So I'm breastfeeding currently and would really love to start my baby on bottles from next week he's a little guzzler so think he will take one well
My question is how much do I give him in a bottle ( formula) do I just go by what the box says ?
He's currently feeding every 2 hours in the day and 4 hourly at night just hoping to drop one feed so I can have a break

BF babies take generally 25 floz in 24 hours. So by all means make what it says on the carton but he's unlikely to take more than 2floz in the day or 4floz at night.

We can’t really answer that question without a bit more context as to why you want to start him on bottles. E.g. are you going back to work soon?

I’d try 2oz and see if he drains it if so maybe do more then next day.

Bf babies often prefer smaller amounts my 13 m old still only has 2-3oz bottles !!

My husband used to give ours 1 bottle feed... About 10.30-11 before he went to bed... (I'd gone to bed before 8)..gave As much as baby wanted.. Worked fabulously for us. Baby slept through till 5 much better.. Everyone more rested.. Didn't effect my milk

Brilliant. Dont forget to use paced feeding with the bottle so he doesn’t over feed.

How old is baby? Under six weeks mine would only have between 2 and 4 ozs. From about 6 weeks they would drink anywhere from 4-8 ozs.

He is now 10 weeks and taken bottle very well maybe too well
I make up what the pot recommends which is now 180 mls , I pace feed burp several times but he is drinking it all! Cry if I don't let him have it all
But then wants feeding again 2 hours later is this OK?
Worried he's eating too much
